Why Play is Important for Long-Lasting Learning - Educational Solutions

Teaching Testing Skills Through Play!

Hello, and welcome to my new blog post where I will address educational issues that are utmost on my mind.

First, let's address the elephant in the room! You know- the test!

Educators are constantly having to train kids how to pass the test. Don't get me wrong there are good things about accountability and test scores demonstrate if concepts are understood.

However, in Texas, we have gone overboard because it is all about the test now. The good news is you can still incorporate fun ideas into your curriculum.

I have watched great teachers using play alongside the curriculum for test taking. It does make me sad when I walk into a kindergarten classroom and they look like soldiers ready for battle- I do still see, thank God, learning centers where fun and learning come together.
