Trains, No Planes, Automobiles

Updated: Mar 13

There are times when I still feel and act like I'm eight-years-old. I love toys and learning!

I just got a new shipment from Melissa&Doug learning materials.

They never disappoint.

The new Wooden Railroad Set will help kids work with spatial awareness, geometry (measurement), problem-solving, sequencing and reading and following directions. Not to mention, fine motor skills, cause and effect and creating a story.

In addition, we received the wooden magnetic calendar. I love this for many reasons. It teaches: days of the week, months of the year, number sequencing, seasons, weather, reading, fine motor skills and language skills.

The last item is the coolest! For only 4.99, kids get a beautifully designed book where they will add colorful pieces of tape using their fine motor skills and scissors.

It's a great independent activity kids love.

The more fun the activity, the more learning takes place.

Like the late John Candy's character, Del Griffith says to a disgruntle, Neil Page (Steve Martin), "You gotta pack in the laughter!"
